are there any women training currently? there were quite a few when I was around, but sounds like ladies I knew are not there anymore. Is Bernie, Susana or Sam still there?

I did Karate for nearly 3 years in the past and got to purple belt. Hoping to get back into it after getting fit after having a baby.
My experience with Karate made a huge impact on my life. It gave me confidence, courage, positive thinking, respect for myself and others. To me it was addictive and I loved it! Training was intense, but wonderful. I always felt like I was walking on air after a session even though everything ached for days afterwards. Gave me great satisfaction physically and most importanly mentally. I was in the best shape ever. You meet great people and learn so much. Amazing! If you haven't tried it yet and looking for a new way to get fit, make friends and feel great about yourself and things, then join Karate club.
Oxford Karate Academy is a great community to join. People are friendly and kind and the instructor is great!
All the best

Hello. I hope someone can help and advise me on the right course of action.
I am a former Karate student and when I was training, I was the fittest I had ever been. Really enjoyed the high intensity and felt great. It was addictive! But... I had a baby last year and now feel I lost all my fitness and still have weight to lose, which I am struggling with. I would like to get into it again, but not sure what the right exercise would be for me to start with. I fear if I start doing Karate or something as intense straight away, my system will be shocked, as I had a difficult birth and very unfit right now. I need a lot of toning on the stomach, thighs and arms. Also, what would be the best diet for me. I have lost weight gradually over the last few months, but would like to lose more 7-10kg and fairly quickly and steadily, so it would be easier to me to do more exercise. My diet is quite healthy, but I tend not to eat rather than eat (if you know what I mean) when trying to lose weight, which slows things down naturally.
Have been reading posts on here from Shihan Paul. So much information, a bit lost in it all.
