It was taken from Shihan's own interpretation of seeing Hokusai's Great Wave, a famous print from Japan's most famous artist. The wave is circular and soft, whilst the distant mount Fuji is hard, angular and immovable.The wave breaks into a spume that disperses into the air and goju is epitomised through it's two katas, Sanchin and Tensho, both breathing katas and the first being hard and the second soft. Please let us know what it conjures up to you? orca kai mike - Wed 18, Jul 2007 01:36:37 The first thing that grabs my attention is the writing which draws me to it - the circle is like a fence holding you back, so you cannot see what is going on inside the circle - the centre of the circle can bring you in for a closer look, as you look through the centre, only then will you discover the true meaning of Goju Ryu Karate. Just by looking at the design means you want try and train at Goju Ryu Karate, to discover the meaning of Goju Ryu is something we all are on a journey, a path leading to a way in life.
